WP3 – Building capacity in electro-clinical diagnosis of EE

T3.1: Train the trainers in clinical diagnosis of EE (M3-M10)

Task leader: AMU, participants:

SU, UA Within this task, the piloting partners will increase their knowledge about the diagnosis of EE. The objectives of the training program and the OSCE stations will be prepared during the T2.2 and T2.3. Theorical training will be through e-learning. The courses will be delivered in the e-CAMPUS (D3.1). This training will last 6 months (M4-M10). This theorical training will be followed by practical sessions lasting 5 days. This seminar will be dedicated to practical video cases with application of the guidelines for the description of seizures. This seminar will be organized in Tunisia and animated by European partners. At the beginning, we will distribute a questionnaire for evaluation of the participant’s knowledge’s. At the end of the theorical and practical training, we will evaluate the skills of participants by OSCE. Trainers with non satisfactory results will have SPOC training. The training will continue with the discussion through videoconference with European partners of clinical cases from the cohort of Sfax to be better classified and phenotype the patients. This training will be used as a module in the master degree of epilepsy in faculty of medicine of Sfax in SU. AMU will be in charge to coordinate this training and SU will supervise the online platform (e-CAMPUS).

T 3.2: Training the trainers on child EEG: (M3-M10)

Task leader: UA, participants: AMU, SU

Within this task, the piloting partners will increase their knowledge about the EEG technique and interpretation on neonates and children. The objectives of the training program and the OSCE stations will be prepared during the T2.2 and T2.3. Theorical training will be an e-learning. The courses will be delivred in the e-CAMPUS (D3.1). This training will last 6 months (M4-M10). This theorical training will be followed by practical sessions lasting 5 days. This seminar will be dedicated to EEG technical and interpretation with application of the guidelines for the interpretation of EEG. This seminar will be organized in Tunisia and animated by European partners. At the beginning, we will distribute a questionnaire for evaluation of the participants knowledge. At the end of the theorical and practical training, we will evaluate the skills of participants by OSCE. Trainers with non satisfactory results will have SPOC training. The training will continue with the discussion through videoconference with European partners of clinical cases from the cohort of Sfax to have better electrophysiological phenotype of patient. This training will be used as a module in the master degree of epilepsy in faculty of medicine of Sfax in SU. AMU will be in charge to coordinate this training and SU will supervise the online platform (e-CAMPUS). One MD and one EEG technician will have a short secondement in European epilepsy unit (AMU or UA) in order to improve their skills in electro-diagnostic of epilepsy syndromes and will be in charge to train other members from other Tunisians and MENA region institutions.

T 3.3: Standardization and establishment of guidelines (M12-M15)

Task leader: SU; participants: AMU, UA

This task will set up guidelines to standardize the description of seizures and EEG/video in order to improve the description of the phenotype of patients. Within this task we will:

  • Establish a guideline for clinical approach (D3.2).
  • Establish a guideline for EEG technic and its interpretation in neonate and infants (D3.3)

Description of Deliverable :

D3.1 : Content of module available in e-CAMPUS (M3)
D3.2 : Clinical guidelines (M15)
D3.3 : EEG guidelines (M15)

Relevant Milestones :

MS1 Training objectives and teachning tools available for starting training
